I help people suffering from low self-esteem, low confidence and low self worth. With the added stress and anxiety caused by the present pandemic, daily life can feel far more difficult to manage. If you are feeling worthless and invisible already then this can feel overwhelming and debilitating, an inability to function in your daily life as you would like to and also affecting your relationships with others. You may have engrained, deep rooted negative self limiting beliefs that convince you that you are not worthy of joy, happiness or love, that you have nothing to offer yourself or anybody else. You may have experienced some sort of trauma that also leaves you feeling unable to function as you would like to. You may have experienced a controlling relationship when growing up, where you were not ever encouraged to develop an ability to trust your own decision making which is now causing you issues as an adult. You may feel isolated constantly, always trying to fit in but never experiencing a sense of truly belonging. By exploring and uncovering the causes, origins and links of where and when all this started for you, we can uncover the parts of you that have not been able to emerge until now. We can encourage, understand and make sense of how seeing things from a different perspective, truly connecting with your authentic self, and finding your way of being that is who you are now, can really help you let go of believing that this was something you didn't deserve or would ever find. You will begin to believe for yourself how you have the ability, knowledge and capacity to start living the life you do deserve, one of quality and authenticity where you do fit in, where you feel good enough and are able to make and trust your own decisions and where you have a true sense of belonging.
I am now offering Walk and Talk therapy as an alternative to office, telephone or online counselling.
Research shows how being out in nature doing just mild exercise reduces the symptoms of anxiety and depression. Mainly due to the release of endorphins through movement which introduces a more positive element, changes physiology and leads to feeling more motivated. Simply by moving forward step by step together helps to release any tension or stress more easily than when sat down with your counsellor. Having the opportunity to get outside and deepen your connection with nature enables you to experience feeling more connected with the more difficult parts of your story and yourself. Experiencing the restorative, enriching and healing wonders of nature can really boost your immune system, as well as your mental and physical health and well being.
For those who find sitting with their therapist quite daunting due to feeling uncomfortable with the eye contact element of this, then walking therapy can really alleviate this fear. Looking ahead rather than being drawn into making eye contact can help you to really open up and say what perhaps would have been more difficult to do in an office or facing a screen.
Walk and Talk therapy could be a good option for you if you spend alot of time indoors either with work or your family, sitting down more than you would like to, this gives you the added benefit of getting you gently moving outside, particularly if you are worried that you are not getting enough exercise.
However, if you would prefer office, zoom or telephone counselling, I am continuing to offer these, whatever feels more natural and comfortable for you. I am now able to offer therapy in my counselling room with a plastic screen between us, keeping us both safe at this time.

On top of this, when stress or anxiety last for a period of time, physical health problems can be caused or worsened. Talking to a counsellor can help alleviate the pressure you feel under carrying all of this by yourself.

As an objective listener, I can offer a perspective that you may not have even contemplated before, helping you to gain more clarity and understanding of the situation/issue that is causing you distress. I believe my ability and willingness to truly focus on you, paying particular attention to the meaning of your chosen words, facial expressions and body language gives you a very real feeling of value and importance and how your feelings do matter and need to be acknowledged fully. I regard our counselling relationship as sacred, honouring, and of utmost importance to me.
I live within easy reach of Farnborough, Camberley, Frimley, Farnham, Aldershot, Ash Vale, Mytchett, Fleet, Hawley, Blackwater and Yateley . I have some beautiful local woodland around Hawley lake where there are quiet routes for us to do together. I am also happy to meet you at a location of your choice locally. This would be discussed and agreed between us upon your enquiry.
